Jim Blevins

I am a general linguist with a primary focus on the structure, learning, and processing of complex inflectional and grammatical systems. My research approaches these issues from the standpoint of contemporary word and paradigm models, using analytic tools and insights drawn from information-theoretic and discriminative perspectives.

I have secondary interests in computational models of grammatical systems, as well as in aspects of sound patterns and communicative function that interact closely with grammar. My current areal interests fall mainly within Finnic, Germanic, Kartvelian and Slavic.
